Five Institutes.
One Bold Vision.

Advancing integrated solutions for suicide prevention, leadership, independence, care, and innovation

The A:CE Institutes

A:CE Vision Statement
Advancing knowledge, strengthening practice, and promoting economic empowerment and independence so people can live the healthiest and fullest lives possible.

The five A:CE Institutes are purpose-built to address challenges where traditional systems fall short. Each institute provides specialized training, practical solutions, and collaborative support to strengthen communities, build professional capacity, and empower individuals.

The 5 Institutes of the Center of Excellence include:

The Institute for Suicide Prevention brings people together around a shared goal: saving lives and building hope. We provide practical training and trusted tools that help communities and professionals recognize risk and respond with care while supporting research and advocacy that strengthen suicide prevention across all systems of care.

The Institute for Purpose Driven Leadership and Clinical Excellence develops leaders who strengthen care and operations. We support clinical, frontline, and administrative leaders through evidence-based training, mentoring, and coaching. By combining proven practices with emerging innovations, we help improve care delivery, operations, and workforce readiness.

The Institute for Integrated Care works to improve how people with complex needs experience care. We bring partners together to connect mental health care, medical care, and other essential supports into one coordinated approach. By cutting through confusion and disconnected services, we may care easier to find, easier to navigate, and more responsive to what people need.

The Institute for Independence and Healthy Living helps people gain the skills and supports they need to live healthier, more independent lives. We focus on employment, housing, and basic needs, such as food, through hands on training, and learning. Our on-site programs in hospitality and agriculture take place in real world settings, including hotel rooms, restaurants, greenhouses, gardens, and event spaces so participants can build practical skills and prepare for jobs.

The Institute for Technology and Innovation uses technology to make care easier, more effective, and more human. We test and apply tools, such as artificial intelligence and assistive technology to reduce barriers, support independence, and improve how services are delivered. By listening closely to people who use these tools, their families, and professionals, we make sure new solutions are practical, respectful, and focused on real needs.

Five-year goals:

  • Train and certify 5000 plus clinical, administrative, and frontline mental health substance use, medical, and disabilities and human services professionals.
  • Place 500 people who have disabilities, behavioral, health needs, or social barriers into competitive employment through vocational and hospitality training.
  • Launch and sustain integrated service models to connect housing, employment, behavioral, health, and health related social needs.
  • Support suicide prevention across 100 plus organizations, schools, service providers, and community-based agencies by using proven prevention models.
